My Interpretation of the Character list

Character list
Kate Quin: Trying way too hard, but it seems that she may also be in way too deep in life and is possibly suffocating herself with her idea of what her life should look like. In her description “in business suit, holding an attaché case that she is quite aware of. The attaché case alternately makes her feel like a successful grown-up or handcuffed.” Compared to

Muffet in knowing the power of being attractive, but Kate questions wither her looks help or hinders her self-image.  From her description seems a little uptight.

Samantha Stewart: “a gently attractive woman. If another old adage, [Smith is to bed and Holyoke is to wed,]” This reference is taking about Smith College and Mount Holyoke College both schools are for girls.

Smith College is a private, independent women's liberal arts college with coed graduate and certificate programs, located in Northampton, Massachusetts, United States. It is the largest member of the Seven Sisters.-Wikipedia

Mount Holyoke College is a liberal arts college for women in South Hadley, Massachusetts, United States. It was the first member of the Seven Sisters colleges, and served as a model for some of the others.-Wikipedia

Samantha’s comparison to the saying secures her as being the marring type and not the type that one sleeps around or for that matter she would not be considered as a one nightstand. Moreover woman like Samantha is also used as the reason why this saying is so.

Holly Kaplan: From the beginning of Holly’s description I know that she is probably not all well put together, but it works for her. She is probably still trying to figure herself out, but is also insecure.

Muffet Di Nicola: Approaching thirty, smart, attractive,

Rita Altabel: Has an active imagination. She seems to never really stay anywhere to long.

Mrs. Plumm: Housemother of North Stimson Hall and is up-tight

Susie Friend: Over achiever and loves pink also never gets tired

Carter: No last name A loner

Leilah: Compared to be as handsome and academically accomplished as Kate who is interestingly the first character mentioned.
